Hello and welcome to Wikipedia!

Here are some tips to help you get started:

Good luck!

Meelar (talk)

P.S. One last helpful hint. To sign your posts like I did above (on talk pages, for example) use the '~' symbol. To insert just your name, type ~~~ (3 tildes), or, to insert your name and timestamp, use ~~~~ (4 tildes).

ATTENTION: Your one-week ban is about to end, but please DO NOT upload or edit any image before communicating with us. Some administrators are very upset with you because you ignore all the warnings, fail to communicate, and continue to add inappropriate images and tags. They will put a permanent ban if you don't stop. I don't want that to happen. Don't get angry at me. I am just trying my best to prevent you from being permanently banned. Please email me and talk to me first.

Hi Cheung - please do not remove a "Votes for deletion" notification from any page, as you recently did on Internet Poisoning. If you think that this article should not be deleted, please leave a comment here explaining why. If you have any questions about how the voting process works, please feel free to ask. --Rlandmann 06:12, 21 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Hello Cheung1303! I'm writing you because an image you uploaded, Image:19950620.jpe, does not have any licensing information associated with it. Wikipedia's goal is to remain free content, so all images used in articles must have a free license. If this image was not released under a free license, it needs to be removed from Wikipedia. Because of the lack of any license, the image will be listed for possible deletion. Please supply any license information you may have for this image on the image's page, and drop me a note on my talk page. I'll list the image in about a day if you can't track down the license. Thanks! Whosyourjudas 00:49, 23 Sep 2004 (UTC)

[edit]

Please stop uploading images without adding information on their source and copyright status. I am going to list the images you have uploaded so far on Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images, and they will be deleted in 30 days unless this is added. Guanaco 01:59, 23 Sep 2004 (UTC)

These images need to have this information. If you don't stop uploading these images without the required information, you will be at risk of being temporarily blocked from editing. Please just start adding the information or stop uploading. Guanaco 02:14, 23 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Thank you for adding the source of the images. It'll be very useful to us in keeping track of their copyrights. Guanaco 02:20, 23 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Please stop

[edit]

PLease stop uploading images without copyright informationn. If the images do not have information on their source they will be deleted. - SimonP 17:55, Oct 8, 2004 (UTC)

Again Please stop

[edit]

Why do you keep uploading images without copyright info? Please stop now. Also Please give images a sensible name instead of a jumble of letters and numbers. Theresa Knott (The torn steak) 06:22, 10 Oct 2004 (UTC)

I must echo Theresa's comments above; it is not helpful to upload images without source or copyright information. Images uploaded must comply with the GNUFDL because those which do not can threaten the legality of the project; see Wikipedia:Copyrights. Unattributed images will very likely be deleted as possible copyright infringements, and users with a history of such infringements may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Check out Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for a selection of templates you can add to your images (that is, if you also provide the source of the images for verification purposes). Until then, please stop uploading unattributed images. -- Hadal 08:39, 10 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Warning

[edit]

Cheung1303 if you do not stop uploading images without copyright info we will have no choice but to block you from editing in order to prevent you from keeping doing it. There are a number of comments on this page from various different people asking about these images, yet you have not replied to any of them, and still keep on adding more and more images which will be deleted unless you post the required copyright info. It's such a shame because you seem like a decent sort of person who is trying to improve articles. I do not want to block you from editing and delete every single image that you have uploaded, but I will do it if you don't respond. Please please please -just tell us where you got the photo's from. Did you take them yourself? Theresa Knott (The torn steak) 10:25, 11 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Cheung is a Cantonese surname. FWIW. VeryVerily 10:53, 11 Oct 2004 (UTC)

My response

[edit]

I uploaded the images, but I cut a part of them so as to let people don't see the source of the image. I have posted some articles and improve some of the other articles about Hong Kong transport. I have also added the related images to let people see the trains of the railways, and so much more. Please do not prevent me from sending me warnings.

cheung1303 10:04, 12 Oct 2004 (GMT+8)

Thanks for responding. I will not block you from editing now that you are talking. I have some questions.

 1. Are you chinese? What languages do you speak well? (I think we need help from a translator)
 2. Did you get permission from the websites that you copied and pasted the picture from? Did they say that you could do it?
 3. Did the photos have the source of the image printed on them? Is that what you cut out?

I can see you are improving the articles. Nice work! We just need to get the copyright info sorted out. Theresa Knott (The torn steak) 13:42, 12 Oct 2004 (UTC)

I answer you some questions

[edit]

1. I'm Chinese. I can speak Chinese, English, Russian, French, Spanish and Arabic.

2. Yes, sure.

3. I got sources of the photos. For most of them, I cut out the text on the photos.

User:cheung1303 10:37 (GMT+8)

Thanks. Um if I understand you correctly. I think you are breaking copyright law. Let me explain. If I take a photograph I own that image. I can sell you a copy but that doesn't mean that you are allowed to do anything you like with it. You are not allowed to make a copy of that photo and give it to someone else unless I give you permission. It looks to me as if this is what you have done.
Some people put text on their photographs saying who the copyright owner is (who took the photo)If you have removed this then you have almost certainly broken copyright law. This means that if the person who owns that image (usually the person who took the photograph) could theoretically take Wikipedia to court and try to claim damages. We don't want Wikipedia to have to pay large sums of money to compensate photographers or other website owners, so we have to be very careful about what photographs we allow on Wikipedia.
One way around this problem is to ask for permission. You could email the people where you got the photographs from and ask them if they will allow you to put the photographs on Wikipedia. (point them to the GFDL article so that they understand the legal consequences of giving us their photographs). If they refuse however we have to respect that and delete the images :-(
The other thing you can do of course is take the photographs yourself. Digital cameras are very inexpensive nowadays, especially since you don't need a high resolution one to take photographs for the web. If you live in Hong Kong and can take photos of the buses yourself you will own the copyright and so are free to do whatever you want including giving them to Wikipedia.

Thanks Theresa Knott (The torn steak) 08:45, 13 Oct 2004 (UTC)

When you upload images, you must provide information on what source you got them from. Please start doing this, as you have been asked to do many times. Images without source information will be deleted. --Michael Snow

Gakei images are copyrighted. Do not use them. They will be deleted. --Michael Snow 15:57, 28 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Do not remove copyright violation tags. That is vandalism. If you continue you will be blocked from editing. --Michael Snow 03:52, 29 Oct 2004 (UTC)

You marked 1 as GFDL and public-domain, but gave no source for this image. I'm going to delete it if you don't add a citation of where you got the image from. (I've listed it for deletion anyway; there's no point in a scanned image of a textual table.) —Steven G. Johnson 20:58, Nov 4, 2004 (UTC)

Image:TX-C25FTJ.jpg has a copyright notice right on it. Why do you continue to upload these images that will all be deleted?- SimonP 01:51, Nov 5, 2004 (UTC)

And please don't put tags like PD on it unless you can back it up by giving the specific source and showing that the copyright holder released it into the public domain. (I just went through your list of contributions and found dozens of images with no source info at all, and numerous ones where you had put clearly erroneous PD, GFDL, or Permission or other tags on them.) On one of the images you said merely that the source was "Google image search, where I get all my images". You are vandalizing Wikipedia by posting such stuff. —Steven G. Johnson 02:54, Nov 5, 2004 (UTC)

-- Felix Wan 16:20, 2004 Nov 5 (UTC)

Copyrights

[edit]

Hi Cheung1303,

Please don't add pictures that you find on Google onto Wikipedia. Most pictures online are copyrighted, and it is illegal for Wikipedia to use them without permission. If you continue to do this you will be blocked from Wikipedia.

In general, you can only put the following types of images onto Wikipedia:

 • Images in the public domain. For example, images made by the U.S. government on .gov or .mil sites may belong in this category. But note that this doesn't apply elsewhere; the government of China, for example, owns the copyright to all images that it creates and puts online.
 • Images released into GFDL. You can read GFDL to find out more. In general, images that you find online are not released into GFDL, they are copyrighted.
 • Images whose copyrights have expired. In general, the copyrights of images you find online have not expired.
 • Images whose copyright holders have explicitly given permission to Wikipedia to use their image. For example, if you took the picture, and you agree to let Wikipedia use it, then that's fine. Note that you must already have the copyright holder's permission before uploading.

Tags like PD, GFDL, and Permission are used to distinguish between these types of images. Please don't upload images that don't belong to any of the categories. For example, most pictures online belong to their copyright holders. Those are not allowed on Wikipedia unless you already have permission to use those images from their copyright holders. Otherwise, you can't upload those images. If you do, those images will be deleted. If you keep on doing it, you will be blocked.

Please familiarize yourself with the policies on Wikipedia:Copyrights. We don't want to see you leave and we hope to see you here as an active contributor to Wikipedia. We also have a Wikipedia in Chinese, if you're interested. :)

Cheers! -- ran (talk) 06:24, Nov 5, 2004 (UTC)

Enough is Enough!

[edit]

Putting a copyrighted tag on a picture does not make everything OK. If you don't say who owns the picture, and who gave you permission to upload it here you are still breaking the rules. What's more jimbo has explained that we do not want such images here. The only accepatble images are GFDL, creative commons, Public domain and fair use. If I see you violate our copyright policy, one more time. i will block you from editing for a week. My patience is at an end. Everything has been explained to you over and over. Let me explain it one last time. Unless you took the photo yourself, DO NOT UPLOAD IT. (There are other circumstances where it is acceptable to upload an image, but in your case I'd steer clear of them as you seem to find it too difficult to understand) Come to the rfc listed above, and stop uploading images that you havent taken yourself or you will find your account blocked. Theresa Knott (Not the skater) 11:10, 8 Nov 2004 (UTC)

-- Felix Wan 16:25, 2004 Nov 8 (UTC)

As Felix has said, please don't upload any more pictures! You've reached the bottom line of the admins and you'll be blocked very soon if you don't stop! We have Chinese- and English-speaking participants here, ready to answer any questions you may have, but please stop uploading pictures! We don't have many Chinese contributors to begin with, and we don't want to see a genuinely interested and contributing member get kicked out for a reason like this! -- ran (talk) 07:21, Nov 9, 2004 (UTC)

You are now blocked from editing for a week

[edit]

I hate to do this but you simply won't listen. This image Image:Ine03.jpg is a copyright violation. For uploading this and other copyrighted images. And for ignoring the many patient messages on your talk page explaining that you are not allowed to do this I'm blocking you from editing for the temporary period of 1 week. Whilst you are blocked i suggest you take the time to read the above messages again and look up our copyright policy and make an effort to understand it. If you cannot understand the complexities of copyright, I suggest you invest in a digital camera and go out and take some images yourself, because if you come back after this one week period and carry on as before you will find yourself permenantly blocked from editting this website.

This is an awful situation, because I genuinely do not think you are doing it intentionally or with any malice. But I have to protect the integrity of Wikipedia, and we cannot allow stolen images on this site. Please take the time out to learn our policies. I beg you. I really don't want to put a long term block on you, but I will do it if you leave me no other option. Theresa Knott (Not the skater) 11:47, 9 Nov 2004 (UTC)

From User talk:Felix Wan: I say that the image of West Rail Sightseeing Bus was copied from KCRC and was used with permission. I added copyrighted tag on the image to state that. —Cheung1303

Cheung:

First of all, I am not an admin of Wikipedia. I do not have the right to block you. I am just trying to explain to you what is going on so that you may understand the policy of Wikipedia and will not be blocked. Your explanation on WRSB.jpg was not enough according to the standard of Wikipedia. Your copying of images from gakei.com is also unacceptable. Please understand that Wikipedia has set a very high requirement on copyright of images to avoid legal problems. I am just trying to help. You may reply me in English or Chinese, whichever language you feel more comfortable.

Hello

[edit]

Hi, Cheung, proud to know you that you too are interested in Korean ceelebs like me. Let's work hand in hand together to write articles about them! Thanks, User:Chan Han Xiang

I've deleted your copyvio images

[edit]

It took me 2 hours but I've deleted every single image that you uploaded without adding the proper copyright information. Any future images that you upload will be deleted straight away. I will not wait our usual 30 days. DO NOT ADD ANY MORE COPYRIGHTED IMAGES TO WIKIPEDIA. Doing so is a waste of both your time and mine. Theresa Knott (Tart, knees hot) 08:57, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Welcome back, but no more copyvio

[edit]

Yao Ming.jpgRooney.jpg 都違規。

I think you still do not understand that copying images from other web sites usually does not comply with the copyright standard of Wikipedia. Most images published on web sites are not PD. Both Yao Ming.jpg and Rooney.jpg are copyright violations. Please discuss here and understand why those images are copyvio first before posting any other images.

-- Felix Wan 18:29, 2004 Nov 18 (UTC)

I've just deleted those two images. You cannot steal images from other websites. The images were not public domain. The rooney image came from a website with a clear copyright logo on the bottom of the page. Theresa Knott (Tart, knees hot) 21:30, 18 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Cheung1303, I think you know English reasonably well to understand what I am saying. So I don't bother to translate my messages any more. I don't understand why you are asking me to look at the article Neoplan Centroliner, but I can tell you that the copyright problem with Jefferry's picture has been resolved because he has proved that he took the pictures. See User talk:Jefferry. -- Felix Wan 09:00, 2004 Nov 24 (UTC)

Cheung - you said you wouldn't upload anymore copyvio images. I've just deleted Image:James Wong.jpg, Image:Danny Chan.jpg, and Image:Leslie Cheung.jpg. I will continue to delete copyvio images immediately - I will not wait a month i will do it as soon as I see you do it. Stop wasting your time and mine, I can delete them faster than you can upload them, and i will block you again if needs be. I've tried everything with you. My next step is to ask the arbitration committee to permenantly ban you from this website. Is that what you want? Theresa Knott (The snott rake) 21:37, 26 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Since you moved the page, you need to go to What links here and fix the double redirects and incorrect links you created (like those that should go to ford (river)). Rmhermen 18:18, Nov 26, 2004 (UTC)

Copyrights

[edit]

You're still posting copyrighted images. I will block you for 24 hours. If you come back and start posting more copyrights, I will block you for a longer period of time. RickK 05:38, Nov 29, 2004 (UTC)

Cheung1303: How about this: other than logos, post only photos that you yourself took and/or diagrams that you yourself drew. Don't post anything from the internet. This is what I do and it's working out fine for me. -- ran (talk) 05:46, Nov 29, 2004 (UTC)

Note that, as per Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Cheung1303, anything Cheung1303 uploads that has the appearance of a copyright violation (i.e. no clear justification for claims of PD, no source information, etcetera), is simply deleted on sight. —Steven G. Johnson 19:31, Nov 29, 2004 (UTC)

Article Licensing

[edit]

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)

[edit]

Because of your many past violations, note that I'm deleting on sight any image you upload that even resembles a copyright violation. This includes all of the "icons" you are uploading such as Image:Foodicon.jpg with CopyrightedFreeUse, without giving any source or evidence that it is licensed for free use. No source = automatic deletion. —Steven G. Johnson 15:28, Dec 17, 2004 (UTC)

Why?

[edit]

It is illegal to take other people's pictures and put them on Wikipedia. You are making many people angry by doing this. Wikipedia needs to comply with the law. Why are you still doing it? VeryVerily 11:50, 18 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Where did you get this photo from? Who took it? Theresa Knott (The snott rake) 08:30, 20 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Ecellent! I'm glad you are now tagging images correctly! Cheung would you please get in the habit of putting the web page you got the picture from on the image description page. It makes life much easier, and saves people having to ask you. Merry Christmas btw Theresa Knott (The snott rake) 00:28, 21 Dec 2004 (UTC)

You recently made a nomination on the featured article candidates page with the comment: "This will be the featured article on December 28, 2004. Anyone have suggestions? --Cheung1303 02:08, 21 Dec 2004 (UTC)". I believe this comment betrays a basic misunderstanding of how the featured article process works on Wikipedia. The flow of an article is basically: It gets written -> it gets nominated on the FAC -> Other people comment on it -> If (and only if) it gets a consensus of people to support it becoming a featured article, it is promoted and listed on wikipedia:featured articles. At some point in the future, the featured article director (me) chooses it to put on the main page (You can make requests at wikipedia talk:Tomorrow's featured article.) →Raul654 06:21, Dec 21, 2004 (UTC)

Peer review

[edit]

Cheung, you listed an article and some suggestions about it on Peer review, but that's not a good place for them. It would be better to put your suggestions on the article's talk page, because they're exactly the kind of thing the talk page is for. Please move your questions from peer review to Talk:Dae Jang-gum. If you don't, I will do it myself tomorrow. I'm not trying to make problems for you, I just really think the talk page would be a better place in this case, especially since the article is much too short for peer review. The one who replied 218.102.102.144's question is just someone knows what cheung1303 had done on the internet.
(cheung1303 is "famous" on doing such kind of "extraordinary behavour" on the internet!)
In my opinion,
cheung1303 will NEVER state the source of photographs came from!

Xavier Fung,
can you read Chinese and speak Cantonese?

Please reconsider the insertion of the above-mentioned template in Featured Articles, such as MTR. The icon generated has obscured the view of the Featured Article (FA) icon that is present in all FAs. Also I've changed the image URL to the actual photo of the station, as the thumbnail 30px version appears to be missing. - Best regards, Mailer Diablo 02:42, 8 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:Logo omega.gif

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Logo omega.gif. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the GFDL-self tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. SeventyThree(Talk) 14:48, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

I've revamped and given new direction to the WikiProject Hong Kong page. Feel free to invite more people to join. The more people the more effective. Be sure to also try and tag as many Hong Kong-related articles as possible with the WikiProject Hong Kong infobox found on the project page. Looking forward to working with you. Image tagging for Image:Tvb-logo.gif

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Tvb-logo.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:DSCN1276.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Butseriouslyfolks 05:17, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Alexander Dennis.gif)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Alexander Dennis.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Want to read over The Bus Uncle article again?

[edit]

Hello,

I have corrected the grammar and reorganized the layout and images so as to have a better representation of the subtopics at hand. Numerous citations have been added to many statements, and fair use rationales have been added to the images. So please read the article once more and tell me whether it's up to standard to be nominated for FA.

Fair use rationale for Image:Citybus.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Citybus.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Unspecified source for Image:Citybus.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Citybus.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the GFDL-self-no-disclaimers tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 16:57, 16 May 2007 (UTC). However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Fair use rationale for Image:Cultrev.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Cultrev.jpg.

If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ilse@ 09:55, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:RNA.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Thanks for uploading Image:Wclogo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 06:29, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Parknshop.gif

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Parknshop.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 18:08, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Meklogo.JPG

[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Meklogo.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 16:12, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Cheung1303! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot notifying you on behalf of the the unreferenced biographies team that 1 of the articles that you created is currently tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 710 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the unreferencedBLP tag. Here is the article:

 1. Chuk Man-kwan - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Thanks!--DASHBot (talk) 01:19, 19 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Chuk Man-kwan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hang on to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Graham Colm (talk) 22:00, 11 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
